Cracow is a city famous for many interesting legends, rich architecture, impressive history and a lot of monuments that are worth seeing with your own eyes. These are just a few of the reasons why you should visit the city of Wawel Dragon, Polish kings and exceptional cuisine.
Impressive history and Cracow legends
One of the most interesting legends is the one about the Wawel Dragon, which was defeated by Szewczyk Dratewka and from his skin created many leather pairs of shoes. According to legend, today these shoes can be bought in the Cloth Hall. The second legend is the one about the towers of the St. Mary's Church, which is uneven. The bugle-call is always played in the higher tower and the Sisigmund’s Royal Bell is in the lower one. Legend has it that both towers were built by two brothers who were bricklayers. The creator of the higher tower, according to legend, murdered his brother and then committed suicide. In the Cloth Hall, there is a knife hanging, which, according to legend, is stained with fraternal blood.
